Consistent practice is the best way for students to develop math skills and confidence, at any grade level. 180 Days of Math for Sixth graders provides workbook problems for each day of the school year, giving students ample time to use the skills they learn in class.

Each problem is tied to a specific mathematical concept, allowing students to master skills and prepare for the next level of learning. Students will practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as tackling algebraic thinking, data analysis, logic problems, and more.

With educational activities that are correlated to College and Career Readiness and other state standards, 180 Days of Math helps to prepare students for the future. The daily activities are great as homework or as additional reinforcement of math concepts outside of class.

The 180 Days of Math workbook includes data-driven assessment tips and digital resources for parents and teachers, making diagnostics easy. Encourage your Sixth grade students to approach math with confidence, not fear, with daily practice!

About Shell Education
Rachelle Cracchiolo started the company with a friend and fellow teacher. Both were eager to share their ideas and passion for education with other classroom leaders. What began as a hobby, selling lesson plans to local stores, became a part-time job after a full day of teaching, and eventually blossomed into Teacher Created Materials. The story continued in 2004 with the launch of Shell Education and the introduction of professional resources and classroom application books designed to support Teacher Created Materials curriculum resources. Today, Teacher Created Materials and Shell Education are two of the most recognized names in educational publishing around the world.

"I bought this for my daughter as she's constantly begging me to print her out math worksheets because she loves math so much. She loves that it has a page for every day and starts at the basics. She's gotten a lot of use out of it already."

  • I dislike the structure of this book immensely and regret buying it. The book does not group problems by subject areas (such as a page of decimal problems). Instead, there are 12 problems every day with each question tied to a different sixth grade NCTM standard. So question #1 on every day's test is an addition or subtraction problem, question #2 multiplication, etc.

That means question #11 every day is a "Data Analysis/Probability" problem. But why would you ask a sixth grader to try and do probability problem on day #2, when probability isn't often introduced until later in the year for most sixth grade curriculums? You are asking for failure and frustration.

Each day is trying to be a mini assessment test, but even if you are trying to "assess and diagnose" as the book suggests, it fails at this. Again, the first question every day is a "addition and subtraction" question. The book suggests you track what the student is getting right and wrong in a chart each day. So if the student gets 4 addition/subtraction questions in the first 20 days wrong, are they having a problem with adding or subtracting, or is it really negative numbers that is causing issues?

Math concepts build upon each other. I have no problem with periodic reviews of past concepts, but 180 day of constant review is tedious. Please skip this book!
  • I am a second year homeschooler and love this book. I was looking for something that I could use to start my math lesson with, that would serve as a review for 5th grade skills, as well as build into what he is learning this year. It's a great supplement to my core math program. There is also a great chart that you can use to keep track which answers are wrong and what standard they align with so that you can go back and reinforce that particular standard if you need to. It only takes approx. ten minutes to complete, so he isn't overwhelmed with a lot of problems at the start of math.
  • This has saved us for math practice. My daughter was getting seriously bogged down with the drill and kill type of math worksheets. She loves this. Complaining is virtually nonexistent and new concepts seem to come easily to her. She is even more apt to challenge herself with everyday math since switching to this. We homeschool and thoroughly recommend this for math practice. If only I had found this years ago!
  • Every homeschooler should use these books ! 1 page a day, and there's an answer guide in the back for parents to grade.
  • Love the 180 workbooks. Use as a daily quick practice and getting focused for homeschool. Covers variety of different topics everyday and gets harder as the year goes on, as it should. Sometimes a topic pops up before we've covered it, but gives him a chance to try and see if he can figure it out. Really love it.
  • I bought this for my daughter as she's constantly begging me to print her out math worksheets because she loves math so much. She loves that it has a page for every day and starts at the basics. She's gotten a lot of use out of it already.
  • I use this workbook when we have appointments and will be away from the house most of the day. This works out perfect for my homeschooler.
  • It good, easy and has answers in back of book.
